Fire Training and Safety Services provides nationally recognised training for workers required to enter confined spaces as a structured format at a nationally accredited level utilising Units selected from the registered Training Package MSA07 to manage Confined Space Training.

These two units of competency are customised specifically to manage winery related confined space entry problems and procedures. There is specific emphasis placed on atmospheric management and ventilation techniques, isolation and tagging for equipment prior to entry and rescue techniques both with and without SCBA application.

This initial or refresher training for workers, stand-by persons and those preparing documentation (such as permits etc) surrounding the operations of confined spaces and covers the following topics delivered as both classroom/workshop and practical application.

  • WHS Legislation and applicable standards.
  • Identification of confined spaces and site registers.
  • Identifying risks and performing hazard assessments.
  • Control of risks.
  • Atmospheric management equipment and methods.
  • Ventilation and purging.
  • Isolation and tagging procedures.
  • Correct selection, use and maintenance of safety equipment required for safe working in confined spaces.
  • Entry and work permits.
  • Hot work and fire control in confined spaces
  • Rescue applications.

Nationally Recognised Training Courses

Assessment is provided in areas of both theoretical and practical applications with successful participants issued with nationally accredited documentation reflecting the units delivered during the course. Substantial course documentation will be provided to each participant to support the course and your further operations. On completion of the course, successful participants receive a Statement of Attainment for this Unit of Competency and a statement of their assessment.

A variety of equipment is utilised during the delivery of this program to ensure that participants will be conversant with all aspects of confined space entry.

This course will be delivered over one day.

We supply all equipment required for the delivery of the practical aspects of this course, and for an onsite course will incorporate your policies and procedures into the body of the course.
